Abed Saady is an assistant professor of organic and supramolecular chemistry at the  Department of Chemistry at Bar-Ilan University. Abed received all his degrees in Medicinal Chemistry from Bar-Ilan University. B.Sc. in 2015 (with distinction), M.Sc. in 2016 (with honors), and Ph.D. in 2020 under the supervision of Professor B. Fischer. At the end of his Ph.D. (August 2020), he moved to the Technion to work with Professor S. Berlin and Professor M. Eisen on the development of a new generation of MRI contrast agent. In 2021, he moved to the University of Southampton-UK (2023, University of Birmingham-UK) as a VATAT postdoctoral fellow to work with Professor S. Goldup on the synthesis of chiral mechanically interlocked molecules MIMs, and their biological applications. In June 2024, he joined Bar-Ilan University for his current position.

The Saady group’s primary research interest is developing optimising rotaxanes based architectures for biological and medicinal applications such as prodrugs, drug delivery, MRI contrast agents and cell imaging.
